We
are a dedicated small animal practice offering a caring, professional
and friendly service for all pets. Our team is made up of
two full time vets, three nurses and two receptionists. Our
aim is to provide a high standard of veterinary care to our
patients, within a friendly environment in which our clients
and their animals can feel comfortable, and in which our staff
are happy to work.
Although
most of our patients are dogs and cats, we treat an increasingly
wide range of small mammals, birds, reptiles and fish. We
also provide treatment for the many wild birds and animals
brought to the hospital each year.

Our
policy is that clients should see the vet of their choice
at all times unless that vet is unavailable (e.g. they are
on holiday or in an out-of-hours emergency). Our receptionists
will expect to arrange any follow-on check-ups to be done
by the same vet who started with a given case.
Prevention
is better than cure. We therefore recommend annual vaccinations
and regular worm treatments for dogs, cats and rabbits. We
are also happy to discuss your pet's diet with you so that
they may stay active and healthy. We are also keen that you
should insure your pet so that if anything does go wrong we
can give the best possible treatment without having to worry
about financial constraints.
NORTH ROAD VETS IS NOW AN RCVS-ACCREDITED SMALL ANIMAL PRACTICE
North Road Veterinary Centre is one of the few practices in the area to be awarded the prestigious Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons accreditation as a Tier 2 Small Animal Practice.
The scheme was introduced in 2005 to ensure high standards of patient and client care in veterinary practices.
North Road Veterinary Centre is very proud to be one of the first practices in the area to be inspected to achieve the accreditation.
There are three levels of accreditation:
Tier 1 is the basic level.
Tier 2 is for high standards in a veterinary clinic.
Tier 3 is for hospitals and referral centres.
North Road Veterinary Centre applied for Tier 2 accreditation and, after a rigorous inspection, was awarded it in July 2005. |

All
consultations at our clinic are by appointment, except in
cases of emergency. We aim to offer plenty of choice - on
weekdays there are three sessions (morning, early afternoon
and late afternoon/early evening). We do make house calls
but don't encourage them because we feel we can do a better
job at our well-equipped clinic. There is always a vet available
to advise or attend genuine emergencies. If needing assistance
outside normal hours, please remember that the duty vet is
not just on for the 'night shift', but has usually worked
the previous day and will be working the following day as
well!

We accept all major credit cards.
Finding
us
North Road is the main road from Midsomer
Norton to Radstock. From Bath, take the A367 to Radstock and
turn right at the mini-roundabout as you come into Radstock.
Follow this road into Midsomer Norton, where it becomes North
Road. North Road Veterinary Centre is on the left, just after
the football ground. From Bristol, take the A37 to Farrington
Guerney, turn left along the A362 and continue straight over
the mini-roundabout at Tescos. At the next roundabout turn
right to Midsomer Norton and then left at the next mini-roundabout
into North Road. We are about a third of a mile on the right
on the corner of North Road and North Way. Turn down North
Way and park in our carpark behind the clinic.
